The last seven days the great ouse at Ten Mile Bank has been showing some consistent weights through out this weekends match stretches. KLAA and Littleport are hosting this years Eastern Region Shield which take place tomorrow on both waters, 48 pegs are being used on the klaa stretch and a further 48 pegs are being used at Littleport.
During the last seven days ten mile has seen a steady influx of anglers in preparation for the match. Piggeries -Wissey Mouth skimmers, roach, tench and the odd bream showing on both the pole and the tip, heavy ground bait has been the key for success in holding the fish in the swims, hemp has also been used in holding the fish, maggot, hemp, worm, caster and pinkie, have all been finding the fish when used as a hook bait. Nets to near 20lb have been reported from this area. Wissey Mouth -Railway bridge, probably the more favoured stretch for some anglers but the railway bridge end has seen the better nets reported, skimmers bream tench roach and perch have all been recorded in nets reported to just over 22lb. Caster, has been attracting the fish on the pole line, but coloured maggot has also produced well, Ground bait has figured heavily in all catches on both lines.
Railway Bridge- Chapel. a few bigger bream to 6lb have been showing on this stretch also tench to 4lb,roach, skimmers and perch have also been showing. Both tip and pole have worked well all though worm has produced the better catches, Ground bait has again been the key to holding the fish when mixed with a few particles and squat. Nets to 26lb 9oz have been recorded, but the average net weight has been around 12-15lb.
Chapel- Modney has also been consistent with plenty of roach showing on the 11-13 meter pole line, caster, maggot, pinkie and squat have all been used as a hook bait. nets to the high teens has been received bream and skimmers have also been reported at this stretch.
Tottenhill/Shepherds Port, both venues continue to fish really well with carp to near 16lb reported at Tottenhill, and carp over 13lb 9oz reported at Shepherds Lake. Bream also showing well at both venues. Skimmers, roach, rudd and tench still showing well on Shepherds Lake.
