What a start to the season on the Relief Channel. KLAA Chairman Kelvin Allen and 2 friends netted 600lbs of bream in two trips to a pre baited area. The season started early on the 16th with a 04:00 first cast and it was bream from the off. 65 fish later at 08:30 and the sun in the sky and the fish stopped feeding. The best fish weighed 9lb 4oz with an average size of 6lbs making it a 3 man catch of around 390lbs. R Ben Girdlestone with a typical Channel Bream. Can't wait for the next trip!
Well next trip on the 23rd June and would you believe an 11lb 14oz monster bream. What will this river produce next? However the fish didn't show in any numbers after this monster tore the swim apart in a 10 min battle on the slider. |

ain delayed a planned return trip on Saturday, so Sunday morning again saw more action. This time the fish were tightly shoaled, but remained feeding in the overcast and windy conditions. 42 fish was the end result, this time the average size was around 5lb making it a catch of around 210lbs, with young Peter Webb not landing a fish!
