Anglers are already waiting in anticipation hoping that the new season will deliver a personal best weight or their biggest fish caught, Tottenhill and Shepherds port reopen on the 1st April but the busiest time, will see anglers gather at the venues will be over the weekend, both venues provide a great days sport, Tottenhill a favourite venue of old contain a big head of carp and bream, roach also show well throughout the year, and if lucky the odd tench will feed well in the early morning and late afternoon sessions, All methods can be used at this venue, pole, waggler, ledger, and method feeder will all find the fish throughout the year, Remember there are bans on Keep nets and some bait bans are in place (please refer to the klaa permit for bait bans) and opening times. Shepherds Port has become one of the best still waters around with the opportunity to fish 4 venues, Bear Lake holds alot of carp also plenty of silvers in roach and rudd, Queens Lake is the biggest lake of them all and can feature plenty of bream to 7lb and the odd carp to 8lb all though last season proved quite hard this season could provide plenty of sport, Shepherds Lake has become the favoured venue with carp reported last season to 15lb, backed by a big head of bream for the feeder angler, pole anglers and waggler anglers can enjoy plenty of mixed bags to over 30lb, with skimmers, tench, crucians, roach and rudd all feeding strongly in the spring/summer months. Ken Hill can offer a canal type stretch of water which holds plenty of tench, supported by roach and rudd to nearly a lb in weight, good mixed bags have always shone from this water. KLAA Permits are on sale now and can be purchased from all the local tackle shops, a list is available http://www.klaa.co.uk/membership/agents for all stockists of the permit.
