As the Middle Level tails of, The Winter venues start to produce quality catches, Ten Mile Bank continues to dominate with anglers catching well at the most common winter stretches, Modney Bridge and the Chapel continue to show good quality nets with anglers reporting up to and over 20lb on many occasions during the last seven days. Roach being the bulk of the fish caught but skimmers and perch also showing well. quality roach are being taken on both the pole and feeder at 9-13 meters. maggot feeders working well when presented over a bed of groundbait, hook lengths up to 24 inches have been very successful all though the skimmers have been shying away and longer lengths have been required. The Odd small tench have also been present around Modney Bridge but some perch up to nearly a pound have showing on both small sections of worm and double red maggot. Danby Drove-Owl Box,has also seen a fair bit of activity during the last week, skimmers and roach again showing well at this end, feeder and pole lines working well but feeder being the more dominant at just over 20 meters. pinkie and maggot on the hook over a bed of ground bait laced with hemp. nets to 14 lb have been recorded. Plenty of Specimen anglers around also on the Great Ouse, Wissey Mouth through to Browns Farm has seen the most action but sadly only a report of a pike to 8lb and a couple of small jacks to 4lb have been reported. Little Ouse, has seen a steady influx of anglers starting to appear on the banks with catches starting to show well, with nets into double figures being reported. The early pegs and up to the sunken boat have been the more successful, roach, dace, bleak and rudd have all been showing well on the pole and whip. 5-6 meter whips have been reaping the rewards along with the pole line at 8-9 meters, Pinkie maggot (red, white and bronze) have been finding the feeding fish. Groundbait is also required to hold the fish all though the fish are feeding slightly away from the feed, Hemp and tares have also been a quality bait worth trying. Tottenhill, Shepherds Lake, still worth a visit with both venues holding and showing plenty of roach, pinkie and maggot working well on both venues, small skimmers also showing at Shepherds Lake along with the rudd. Waggler working well at Tottenhill, pole and whip finding the range at Shepherds Lake.
