Ten Mile Bank, again showing remarkable form during the last seven days, with fish reported from the more familiar hot spots, Danby-Squeaks Corner, Modney Bridge- Chapel, Browns Farm , Railway Bridge- Wissey Mouth, have all been very popular during the last seven days. Local Rod and Committee member Mark Smith enjoyed a great four days fishing in four different locations on the Ouse by averaging catches to nearly 40lbs on each occasion to form a weight of over 150 lb. Roach being the bulk of his nest with fish up to a lb showing on the pole line, maggot hemp and worm were the main baits used on the hook. Heavy ground baiting was used in Marks sessions whilst fishing between 9- 13 meters. Elsewhere on TMB roach have been the bulk of the catches caught but also skimmers to 3lb and tench to nearly 7lb have been showing on a regular basis, Bream have also continued to show between the Wissey Mouth and the Railway Bridge. Predator anglers have also started to find there targeted species with perch to near 3lb recorded, also pike have also been recorded to over 14lb at the top end of the Ouse near Denver. Middle Level has seen a recent drop off in form as the odd angler trying to fish the level has had very little if any success. The predator anglers have started to gather on this normally good specimen venue with only small jacks to 5lb reported , Shepherds Port. rather quiet during the last seven days but the anglers that have fished have enjoyed some very rewarding sessions, roach, rudd and skimmers have been showing well on the pole lines at 7- 9 meters. maggot and pinkie on the hook providing the better sport. feeder from the far side of the lake has also been finding the bream to 4lb, pellet and corn on the hook with a fish meal based ground bait for best results. Bear lake has also been very quiet during the last week but some anglers have enjoyed some decent sessions plenty of pasties have shown on red maggot with the odd bigger carp to nearly 6lb showing on the maggot as well. Tottenhill has also seen a decline in anglers during the week all though the weekend a few more anglers were about on the bank, bream continue to show on both pellet and corn, some carp have also been reported during the warmer days. biggest carp reported this week was an 8lb 6oz common. Junior News, This weekend is the start of the East Coast Winter League with the venue being Shepherds Lake after the initial start should have been last month but due to club matches taking place Kings Lynn will now host the start of the league on Sunday and hopefully start the defence of the title with a good solid home performance.
