During the heavy showers over the weekend a lot of colour has gone into the rivers allowing the anglers to catch closer in than usual, margin swims have been successful during the weekend sessions with both Ten Mile and Middle Level producing good solid catches. Ten Mile Bank, has been very consistant during the last few weeks, catch rates have continued to rise with all methods working well. Tip anglers still producing the better fish, feeder and bomb tactics finding the fish at distance with tench and bream showing to worm and corn. skimmers also showing at the top end of Ten Mile towards Denver, Perch also showing well at most stretches,roach now being taken at Wissey Mouth, seed baits working well on the pole. Skimmers and roach showing well at the chapel also tench showing at 7meters. Middle Level, plenty of anglers around with the majority of them finding the fish, nets over 27lb have been reported from Peters, skimmers to 2lb and roach being the bulk of the nets. Neepes continues to fish well with nets up to 30lb recorded, bream to 4lb and skimmers showing well on the tip all though pole anglers are also enjoying good sessions at 11-14 meters. Morton's - Aqueduct also producing good catches all though no weights have been received. Tottenhill, plenty of carp and bream showing during the last week, method feeders working well, when presented with corn or maize on the hook, banded pellet also finding the fish, best carp recorded this week was a mirror of 14lb 11oz . Shepherds Port shepherds lake, still very busy with plenty of anglers finding the bigger fish bream to 5lb reported, carp to 12lb also feeding strongly nets to 67lb have been reported from the top end of the lake, 9 bream and 5 carp was included in the haul, corn being the bait used presented on a small method feeder. Pole anglers also finding plenty of fish with catches of roach, rudd and skimmers for nets weights of over 14lb. maggot,caster and pellet all working well. Bear Lake still producing good solid catches all though early morning and evening sessions are producing the better catches. carp to 6lb showing along with small pasties to over a lb. Junior News, the match squad will have another practise on Saturday in preparation for the fourth coming National on the South Holland Drain at Holbeach, meet on the bank at 8.00 am.
