As temperatures continued to climb during the last seven days anglers have been on the banks basking in the warm sun, sadly bright conditions doesn't help the anglers as the fish seem to shy away from the baits during the brighter spells of the day, but never the less some anglers have been finding there targeted species during early morning or late afternoon/evening sessions.Bream and skimmers continue to show well up and down the main rivers of both Ten Mile Bank and the Middle Level.
Ten Mile Bank, continuing to show good early season form as plenty of skimmers and bream showing between Denver and Browns Farm, more dominant catches have been showing at both the Piggeries and the Railway Bridge, with 7 nets reported to over 53lb. Tip anglers showing the way by casting feeders up to 3/4 the way across the river mounted with either worm or double maggot on the hook, Fish meal based ground bait working well at the Denver/Piggeries end whilst sweet ground bait selecting the better fish around the bridge stretch. Tench to 7lb also showing well at either full distance across close to the weed line edges and also on the near side during morning sessions, worm and corn attracting the better fish.
Middle Level, another venue showing early season potential, with nets around 47lb being reported, bream skimmers tench and perch, being the bulk of the nets caught,St Germans - Peters, roach and rudd showing at 9 meters, on both the pole and the waggler, skimmers also showing but the better fish showing to the tip, roach now starting to show at Peters, hemp starting to find the better stamp fish, High Road-Neepes the odd bream showing to 5lb, skimmers to 2lb roach rudd and perch showing on the pole line, Tip anglers finding the skimmers during late afternoon sessions. Morton's -Crooked Chimney bream to 4lb showing along with plenty of skimmers tench also showing to 5lb worm, corn and red maggot finding the better fish. No reports have been received this week from the aqueduct to Pingles.
Tottenhill, conditions proving harder this week as the carp shy away from the bright sun, early morning sessions and evening sessions are proving to be more rewarding than the midday hours, 13 carp, 7 bream reported in an evening session, corn pellet and paste working well.
Shepherds Port, continues to fish reguarding the sun, although both bream and carp have been harder to locate but both have shown during the week. Tench showing well also crucians at 6-8 meters. Roach and rudd feeding strongly, all methods working well.
Bear Lake, plenty of pasties showing along with carp to 6lb, tight to the island has been the key to finding the fish corn and pellet working well, paste now finding the better fish in open water. both pole and tip anglers finding the fish.
