Sadly for the members of klaa, fishing has become very hard to find the chosen species as during the last week temperatures again dropped, snow and hail fell and ice formed again on the still waters. Shepherds Port, during the earlier part of the week the silvers were taking the baits eagerly as bites were coming thick and fast, although the majority of the fish were small roach and rudd some bigger stamp fish did move in on the baits on offer. fishing close in against the plant matting has been more successful during the last seven days, pegs 3- 7 being the better pegs to try, pinkie and red maggot for best results , skimmers also showing on the feeder from the far side of the lake at 15-20 meters, bites have been slow but positive. hook sizes 20-22 with a short hook link . Middle Level , still attracting the predator anglers during the last week but increased flows have been hard for the anglers to hold bottom, but jigs and small lures have been attracting the perch and the jacks to 5lb between Morton's and Crooked Chimney. Little Ouse, very difficult during the last seven days as flows have increased to unfishable conditions of those anglers who have tried most have blamed flows as presentation of baits cannot be presented in a natural way. Ten Mile Bank very few anglers about during the last week, the odd predator angler about between the railway bridge and browns farm , a couple of jacks reported along with the odd occasional greedy perch. |
