A hard week for anglers on Lynn's waters, as temperatures start to drop and windy conditions start to arrive. Nets have been reported from both Ten Mile and the Middle Level, also good catches at Shepherds Port recorded. Lynn anglers were involved in the eastern region shield last Saturday on the Great ouse which was jointly hosted by both Kings Lynn and Littleport. Lynn finished a very creditable 8th place , Lynn and another club were the only teams in the top 8 that were not sponsored anglers.On the day fishing proved very hard as strong winds with gusts to nearly 60 miles an hour were causing concerns from the anglers involved. Poles were being broken up and down the Ouse as the winds created havoc to all the anglers.Steve Hansed was Lynn,s top rod of the day, but a gallant effort was put in by the whole team. Middle Level, St Marys -Magdelan High Road, still good catches of roach showing on the pole, seed baits starting to slow down but maggot and pinkie finding the fish over a bed of ground bait. Tip anglers also finding skimmers to nearly 2lb , also a few perch showing from 9oz to nearly 2lb, also the odd tench showing between Peppers and Peters. High Road- Morton's, nets to double figures being reported from this stretch, skimmers and roach being the main targeted species, also perch showing on the feeder lines, also the odd bream to 5lb showing. ![]() Crooked Chimney- Pingles, a few anglers about during the last week , some finding the fish others not so lucky, roach tench and skimmers showing, nets to 17lb 6oz reported. Also on the level this week the specimen anglers can be found with fish to near double figure being reported from the upper end , whilst specimen angler John Cullom having his first big double figure pike 15lb 5oz of the season whilst actually fishing for zander. Ten Mile Bank, roach starting to show at Modney Bridge, nets to over 10lb have been reported from this popular winter venue, Chapel and Browns proving to be quite hard with only a handful of anglers about, tip anglers benefiting more than the pole anglers. Nets to 6lb reported. Railway Bridge- Wissey Mouth, again another tough venue during the last week , only a handful of fish being reported . Piggeries-Denver plenty of skimmers still showing in the later stages of the day, and towards dusk, skimmers to 1lb 8oz being the average , with nets to nearly 26lb reported during the week. Shepherds Port, Shepherds Lake will be closed on Sunday for the 2nd leg of the East Coast winter league. Martin Chandler still continues to find the carp over the weekend, Martin had 6 carp between 8lb and 10lb 4oz to form a net of over 50 lb, also plenty of silvers still showing . Tottenhill, water levels are still causing concerns but the fish are still feeding strongly , carp showing throughout the week pellet and corn working well for best results. Junior News, the Lynn juniors were in action on the Grand Union Canal at Milton Keynes last Saturday, conditions proved very hard for the youngsters with winds to near gale force blowing into their faces. all the youngsters fished considerably well during a tough encounter. top rods for the Lynn teams were Toby Pepper, Rocky Murley, Gary Harris and Harry Backmur. Lynn are in action on Sunday in the 2nd round of the East Coast winter league at Shepherds Port.
