Saturday saw the last practise for the forthcoming Eastern Region Shield which will be held jointly by both Kings Lynn and Littleport on the Great Ouse tomorrow.

14 anglers took part last Saturday during a very bright sunny day, conditions did effect the fishing as there was no flow to the water and it was also extremely clear. But some anglers did manage to locate the fish, Pegs 1-3 dominating the match  on the Wissey Mouth - Railway Bridge stretch , Mark Smith was first with a net  of 8lb 12oz roach and perch on the pole and on the tip. 2nd place went to Dave Burton 4lb 12oz using the slider, and 3rd place went to Eddie Deane with 3lb using the long pole. Good luck to the Lynn Team for tomorrows match.
Elsewhere on TMB, skimmers have been showing at the Denver to piggeries stretch, also a few small perch and the odd roach , Wissey mouth - Railway Bridge was looking promising during the cloudier days during the week with skimmers and the odd bream showing . Browns farm- Modney Bridge, alot of fish topping during the week, roach and skimmers around also the odd bonus fish about also the odd perch showing over a ground baited fed swim.
Middle Level, very quite during the last week. fish topping at various locations on the level, Peters still the busiest with anglers about all week, skimmers, roach ,rudd and perch showing nets to double figures reported from this stretch, Specimen anglers are now appearing up and down the level looking for there targeted species, no reports have been received from any other section on the level .
Shepherds Port, still very good sport to be had from both Bear Lake and Shepherds Lake.
Silvers dominating on Shepherds with nets to over 12lb reported, skimmers and roach being the bulk of the nets. Bream and Carp showing on the feeder lines.
Bear Lake, plenty of pasties being caught also a few larger fish showing in open water.
Junior News, Sunday saw the start of the east coast winter league with a tough away trip to Lincoln on the Fossdyke canal. During a very hard match as duck weed had covered virtually every inch of the match stretch it was a relief to see boats going through the canal and breaking up the weed. Lynn anglers were quick to realise that heavy floats were required to get the baits down under the weed, this giving the youngsters a very good victory on the 1st match of the new season. Tom Cockle was the winner on the day with a net of 4lb 4oz  of roach and skimmers on the 13 metre line. This was followed by Section wins for both Kirsty Reed and Gary Harris and a second placed section for Damien Evans  this giving the youngsters a overall resounding win.
The Lynn teams are in action tomorrow on the Grand Union Canal at Milton Keynes in the last NJAA match of the year the Challenge.
