Tottenhill, has seen plenty of action this week as plenty of anglers have basked in the sunshine, plenty of fish showing and all baits are picking up the carp. Catches of 25 plus carp are now becoming common, biggest fish reported this week was a 14lb 9oz common, closely followed by a 14 lb 3oz mirror both caught from different pegs away from the island. Feeder tactics are proving to be the more fruitful as to many fish are being lost on the pole lines. Waggler fishing shallow also bearing its rewards, Corn and maize for best results on the tip whilst liberal helpings of feed pellet holding the bigger fish in the pegs. Bream also feeding strongly during the last week also taking the corn offerings on a method feeder. The tench are also appearing more frequently but early morning sessions and evening sessions are the best times to catch these. Shepherds Port, still very busy on both bear lake and shepherds lake. Anglers gathering on shepherds lake waiting in anticipation for what grabs hold of the hook, carp feeding strongly, bream also taking any bait that's on offer ,the odd tench close in have been taking maggots and the cruicians showing on small cubes of meat. Very good mixed bags reported with nets to over 43lb during the week. Bear lake now starting to fish well as the carp are now feeding strongly after the spawning, nets to over 59lb reported during the week, corn, pellet and paste now starting to attract the better stamp fish. plenty of little carp showing but to get to the bigger stamp you have to feed off the little ones. Queens lake has seen a few more anglers this week all reporting catches of bream.Bream to 6lb being the average, corn and worm proving to be the better bait on the hook. Ken Hill also been quite busy during the last week, but no reports have been received from this popular little canal channel. For the river men the wait is finally over so hopefully some good early catches and reports from the river scene next week.
