At last some encouraging signs of tench showing at Ken Hill, a couple of anglers who were pleasure fishing for the roach and rudd , were not originally equipped for the fishing they were about to endure. After 2 hours seven tench recorded , biggest being 5lb 2 oz and smallest weighing just over 4lb. also plenty of roach and rudd showing on bread and maggot, over a fine mix of light ground bait. Bear lake, again improving week on week as some of the bigger carp are starting to feed a bit more aggressively, plenty of pasties showing on small soft pellet, whilst the bigger carp are taking a liking to sweetcorn close to the island. nets being more consistent and 30lb nets are the average. Shepherds Lake, plenty of fish showing all variety's being caught on all methods, bream on the feeder , carp on the method, roach, rudd, skimmers all on the waggler and pole lines. Pole lines proving very successful in the low numbered pegs 1-8 and the last numbered pegs whilst the middle order pegs producing both carp and bream. Nets to over 40lb being recorded during the week and nets to nearly 63lb recorded at the weekend. Queens lake bearing the fruits from around the hut area as the bream seem to be holding up at this end of the lake, quiet patches are common as the fish move off the bait, but soon return for more food, nets to nearly 71lb recorded late in the week and the weekend was very busy.
