2009 Start and 2008 Review Part 2

What a week at Shepherds Port, Plenty of anglers around during a busy week on all the lakes. Queens lake has been busy with anglers targeting the bream, and plenty of them showing with nets to nearly 68lb during a midweek session. Other nets reported to 48lb and 36 lb during the week and weekend, Feeder fishing proving to be the best method.  

Fish meal based ground baits and worm on the hook for best results.

Shepherds Lake, plenty of bream and skimmers showing on the tip and also a few carp have been landed biggest weighing in at over 10lb, bream to 4lb showing on the tip and worm and maggot finding the smaller fish. Nets to over 50lb reported during the last week, also skimmers  roach, and rudd on the pole lines.

Bear Lake the carp are starting to feed aggressively as the temperatures start to rise plenty of pasties showing and some of the bigger fish have also been reported nets to 35lb have been recorded during the first week.

Junior News.

The juniors were in action at Rushfield lakes on Sunday, all the juniors performed well, and managed to finish in 2nd place on the day taking points from the leaders ,this now securing the 2nd place position  and now opening a gap away from 3rd and 4th place teams . Harry Blackmur was Lynn's top rod  , Alex Dowe was 2nd with Luke Harris  making his  east coast debut in  4th place in the reserve section . Kirsty Reed securing a section win with good placing s by Gary Harris, Tom Cockle , and Damian Evans  all securing that Lynn enter the final  round at Decoy in 2nd place.

Season Review September ,08

Possibly the best month of 08 as catches reported from all the hot spots on both the Level and the Great Ouse. Denver through to the Wissey Mouth fished well with nets to over 35 lb with some big slabs moving in, Browns to Modney saw frequent nets of over 20lb and tench to over 6lb reported at the chapel.

The Level also continued with its form as nets up and down the level were recorded St Marys still maintaining its form  with nets to 25lb , Peters and the High Road continued  producing nets to over 18lb and 22lb . Crooked Chimney producing nets to over 28lb and the Aqueduct also producing nets to over 24lb , Pingles started to produce some good tench to over 7lb.

Specimen anglers started to reap their rewards on the level with a few pike showing to over 16lb.
