After the long hard winter we have had to endure , it seems a few more anglers are trying to find some fish on the rivers before the season ends, A few more anglers around during the last week and some finding the fish on the local waters as the temperatures gradually start to rise during the day and some have been fortunate enough to experience some sunshine. Ten Mile Bank, was quite busy during the week with a few anglers scattered around the Wissey Mouth and the Chapel Stretch, some were on the feeding fish and some found the going tough, A couple of tench to 7lb did show at the chapel whilst a couple of bream made an appearance at the mouth along with a few skimmers and a few roach to form a net weight of 13lb 9oz , also another net reported of 12lb 6oz just up from the Mouth towards the railway bridge, this net comprised of skimmers, roach and perch and a small tench. Danby Drove also finding a few roach as the fish find there way downstream from the Little Ouse, nets to 9lb 1oz of roach reported in midweek session. Little Ouse now starting to fade as the fish move onto the main river, anglers reported a couple of dry nets, River Wissey still the inform river of the moment as the fish are now starting to move away from the bridges both sides starting to produce quality nets, a few bream have shown in the meadow, tormenting the angler s in the sunshine but a couple did fall prey to the bronze maggot on offer, net recorded from the Meadow side was 21lb 3oz. The A10 side again not being outdone by the village side produced some good quality skimmers and roach, also some good dace and a few small chub. nets to 19lb 8oz were recorded. Middle Level, a few anglers around but sadly not many fish reported, only a handful of fish from Morton's and Crooked Chimney ,catches very slow at the High Road and Peters. Tottenhill, at last starting to produce a few more fish as some of the carp are starting to feed, Local Rod John Dowe picking up a 9lb 7oz carp whilst son Ryan struggled to hold the ones he hooked, other son Alex did manage to land a few silvers, other anglers did manage to land the odd carp and bream. Shepherds Port (bear lake) also attracting a few anglers and some reaping the rewards with a few carp to report sweetcorn being the better bait to try, Shepherds Lake still quite slow of late but the the silvers are becoming more active during the last week, roach and rudd and the odd skimmer over hemp whilst using pinkie and red maggot on the hook. Junior News, The youngsters of Lynn are in action on Sunday in round 6 of the East Coast Winter League, at Dents farm. Lynn currently pushing hard for a good finish in the last 3 matches and are aiming for a top 2 finish, with Boston proving a bit out of reach at the moment but who knows, a good result for the Lynn youngsters this weekend could see the gap close and make an interesting run in for the title. Could all anglers be aware that all klaa waters close on Saturday at Midnight. |
