What a week we have had to contend with, minus temperatures throughout the day , heavy snow falls during the week, and yet more sub zero temperatures forecast for the forth coming week. Tottenhill, Shepherds Port, lakes were frozen and only a couple of anglers braved the conditions armed with ice braking equipment descended on shepherds lake. Roach were still happy to take the pinkie hook bait, but after a couple of hours the weather got the better of the anglers.
Tottenhill another venue affected by the ice which in some places became nearly an inch thick. other areas of the lake again were the ice was thin did start to melt but only the odd silver fish did fall to the brave anglers who ventured out.
Middle Level only the odd angler about on the level and again it was the predator anglers who ventured out, only a couple of jacks reported and a solitary perch were taken on the small plugs being used.
Ten Mile bank again another venue which had kat ice on during the weekend , this continued to be fished by more predator anglers rather than the coarse angler. One odd pike to 11 lb 4oz was caught upstream from the Piggeries, and a smaller pike to 8lb 2oz was caught of the bend downstream of Modney Bridge. Very few coarse anglers around as the temperatures continued to dive.
River Wissey , continues to show some good bags close to bridges, 9lb and 11lb nets were recorded earlier in the week. Only the brave ventured on to the waters at the weekend but no reports have been received.
Little Ouse, had just started to slow off as off late , but weather conditions have forced the fish back to the bridge, nets to 14lb 8oz reported during the week and nets to 10lb during the weekend, roach being the targeted species. pinkie, bronze and red maggot over small golf ball sizes of dark ground bait for the best results.
Local Rod Garry Mortimer braving the elements  has again been tempting the bigger fish this week and has landed a 10 lb 11oz Zander , Garry so far this season has smashed his pike Pb three times and has also now claimed a double figure zander.
