We thought the worst of the winter weather had passed by, but during the later stages of the week, the cold snap returned with vengeance. but only the brave or silly depending on which way you look, ventured out into the snowy, blizzards on Sunday.

The KLAA open match on Sunday was very hard as conditions deteriorated throughout the day but there were plenty of roach and small skimmers caught on pegs from both sides of the bridges. Chud Harris drawing peg 3 A10 side closest to the bridge used his peg to gain full advantage by capturing 12lb 3oz of roach, 95% of roach were caught on the hemp. 2nd place went to Tony Gibbings who was fishing just inside the medow using the long pole managed 10lb 1oz roach, skimmers and perch. red and fluro maggot whilst feeding caster.

3rd went to Sam Huy, 5lb 8oz, fishing 6/7 metres whip style over small nuggets of ground bait. Juniors also fished and a seperate pool was arranged 1st place was Tom Cockle 4lb 4oz, roach and skimmers, 2nd Gary Harris 3lb 12oz and 3rd place was Jimmy Brooks 3lb 11oz.

Ten Mile Bank, a few fish showing around Modney bridge and also the Railway Bridge. A bit quiter at the mouth but the chapel has seen a few fish showing. roach are shoaling up in places, a few perch have also been showing on the worm at the pink house.

Predator anglers have also seen a few more fish with the best reported at 14lb 4oz from Browns Farm stretch, some smaller pike have also been reported from the Owl Box.

River Wissey, still the hot spot during the week as Local rod Dave Lee proved when fishing the medow on Wednesday. Dave using hemp as hookbait and feeding small but frequent amounts of hemp managed a net of over 28lb of roach. Plenty of predator anglers around in the medow  some having some good results but even some monster perch to nearly 4lb have been showing on small lures.

Little Ouse still a favoured Winter Hotspot but catch rates have slightly decreased during the last week, some anglers have reported nets to 10lb but fish are moving away so holding them in the swims is proving hard.

Middle Level, No reports of any coarse fish but plenty of predator anglers around some catching but some struggling. Crocked Chimney and Neepes producing a few jacks.

Still waters, this week have proved to be very hard as both Tottenhill and Shepherds Port have seen very few anglers, those who have fished have struggled for bites.
