Two rivers continue to take the news on the klaa waters, The little Ouse and the River Wissey continue to shine during the last week. As other venues fail to produce some decent net weights, These 2 rivers are growing stronger as more anglers are taking to these winter hot spots. Little Ouse, plenty of fish around from the bridge pegs, upstream the bigger fish are tempted by the baits on offer but particularly taking a liking to bread and hemp on the same line, ground bait also holding the fish well when mixed with leam . roach showing to nearly a pound at the beginning of the week but after the heavy downpours during the later stages of the week , flows increased and this bought the smaller fish upstream . nets to 16lb 4oz during the week but towards the weekend nets to 12lb were more common. River Wissey, early part of the week again fish were found from both sides of the A10, roach to 10oz were caught on the seed and the bigger fish were found towards the boats, pinkie and maggot working well. The weekend produced better fish on the village side as the moorings and boats were cover as the flow increased. This Sunday klaa are holding its first open of 2009 on the river Wissey , 25 pegs- both sides of the A10. Tottenhill, a tough venue of late but at last a few fish are now starting to show as the temperatures start to improve slightly. The odd carp and bream have been caught when fishing using maggot, over a tight bed of brown crumb. Shepherds port, shepherds lake also starting to produce a few silvers with the odd big fish taking a fancy to the maggot baits on offer. Bear lake has seen an improvement of late during the afternoon sessions as a few carp have started to indulge on the sweet corn. Ten Mile Bank. slow at the moment but a few fish have been caught at the popular hot spots, roach still showing between Modney and Danby. Plenty of predator anglers about during the week , but this tailed off during the weekend , plenty of jacks reported but no real specimen catches reported. Middle Level, predator anglers up and down the level but no reports were received. KLAA Open Match. Sunday 1st February.River Wissey.
