Massive roach nets on Little Ouse

The Little Ouse is now the inform river at the moment with plenty of anglers about all week and all reporting some great net weights, Nets to 26 lb reported from this popular winter venue, seed baits working very well, plus all variety of maggot catching well too.

River Wissey, again another favourite winter venue which has sprung into life early but the anglers are not complaining, good nets to over 20lb reported. plenty of good quality roach showing also plenty of skimmers and good sized dace.

Ten Mile Bank, at last starting to show some form during the last couple of weeks, with good nets reported from the Wissey Mouth through to Modney Bridge. Plenty of big slabs making appearances from all the favoured hot spots between the bridge and the mouth, a few tench have also been lured into the net at the chapel , good quality perch also taking a fancy to the worms on offer at 6 metres close to the railway bridge.

Middle Level, a venue which has started to struggle during the last week with only a few anglers catching, the only hot spot reported this week was Neepes with some good catches of quality perch to 3lb all caught using worm on the tip.On the whole  catches are  down on the level.

Tottenhill, starting to slow down as the carp look for there winter retreats only a couple of catches reported this week with best fish being a 8lb 3oz common, plenty of silvers about when using maggot, also good bream reported on the tip .

Shepherds Port. bear lake continues to struggle as the temperatures start to dip. Shepherds Lake another good week with plenty of fish around to be caught, on all methods. Maggot working very well over a small ground baited area. Stantons Lake, has continuously been the most prolific lake this year with some great catches reported, even the bream still showing on the worm baits over a bed of fish meal ground bait.Nets to 43lb reported this week.

Junior News, Sunday was a tough encounter for the youngsters of Lynn who fished the South Holland drain at Holbeach in the East Coast Winter League. Water levels had been dropped by 3 feet and the fishing was very patchy with only the anglers from a small stretch catching.The youngsters of Lynn securing 2nd place on the day, Kirsty Reed was the top rod for the junior superteam.

NOTICE.

Would all anglers kindly take their litter home from St Marys on the Level this is starting to look like an eyesore, also this will encourage the rats to feed away from the river. If this littering continues then the klaa committee will have to act on this issue.

Ken Hill Lake and Stantons Lake will close on the 23rd November for the remainder of the season.
