What a difference a week makes, in the eyes of an angler fishing KLAA waters.
After last weeks strong winds and rain this week brought brighter weather and more warm air to send the anglers back on the banks. Plenty of fish have been reported from most of the klaa waters, Ten Mile Bank, local angler Steve Whiley picked up a pair of tench to 13lb 7oz) from one of the stretches, also anglers reporting catches to 14lb of roach from the railway bridge area , also skimmers and bream have been showing to nets of 32lb at the piggeries, the Chapel stretch has also been very popular this week with nets to 18lb reported and Modney Bridge now pulling in the anglers for the roach. Danby and the Owl box also now fishing well with good pleasure catches reported. Middle Level, also showing a vast improvement from last weekend as lots of anglers about all catching fish to form some interesting mixed nets from bream, skimmers, rudd, roach and tench. This weeks hot spots on the level were Neepes and Crooked Chimney with anglers reporting nets to 20lb. Tottenhill, again another venue were anglers found the warmer conditions brought back the feeding fish. carp to 8lb showing as catches improved during the week. estimated catches to 45lb recorded. also the bream and tench did make some appearances. Shepherds Port, Queens lake not many anglers about during the week but the word is that the anglers who did fish the lake caught well no weights were reported though this week. Bear Lake. This venue has not performed well all year and has been very hit and miss as the anglers have struggled to find any real feeding pattern plenty of anglers about but not all going home happy.  Shepherds Lake , This has been the most consistant lake of all on the shepherds port complex as KLAA committee member Joe Evans found out on Saturday , picking up skimmers and bream and even a carp whilst fishing the feeder for a net of just over 30lb. Plenty of small fish about too with roach and rudd being the bulk of the pleasure anglers nets. Junior news. Sunday saw the 2nd round of the east coast winter league held on shepherds lake. Damian Evans was the juniors top rod off the day picking up a valuable section win . Next Leg of the ECWL is at Sharpes Bridge Holbech on November 9th.
