Ten Mile Bank, hosted its first open match for KLAA on Saturday plenty of anglers present but the fish weren’t available to all, some anglers struggled but some caught. 1st place was Phillip Bloxham 6lb 4 oz of roach, 2nd place was Dave Yardey 6lb 2oz tench and perch, 3rd place was Jim Trew 5lb 9oz also a good net of roach. Conditions didn’t favour the anglers this week, but hopefully tomorrow should be more fruitful for all the anglers taking part in the eastern region shield. Elsewhere on TMB fish have been caught during the last week with some good catches reported, 33lb 9oz reported from the chapel stretch roach, perch and skimmers, whist Denver 37lb 13 oz of skimmers tench and bream. Modney proving a good mixed bag can be had with a net of 25lb 2 oz of roach and skimmers. So all in all a good week has been had by the majority of anglers fishing the Great Ouse during the last week. Results for the eastern region shield will be published next week. Middle Level, starting to slow off during the last week as conditions are starting to change, but never the less still very good fishing can be had from virtually all the popular stretches of the level, Specimen anglers are now appearing at their favoured stretches and some catching well.Tottenhill. still attracting a good number of anglers, as the fish continue to feed well, corn and worm attracting the bigger fish but also big silvers will move in on the worm line. Shepherds Port, another busy venue with plenty of anglers about during the last week, bear lake still very patchy, whilst Queens and Shepherds still fishing very strongly with plenty of skimmers and bream showing. Junior News, Sunday saw the juniors in action as the East Coast Winter league began with a trip up to Lincoln on the Fossdyke canal. Lynn Superteam fishing with 2 anglers making the first appearance in the east coast winter league. All the juniors fished very well to secure 2nd place but the Superteam did well individually with Gary Harris 7lb 10oz picking up the individual title and Kirsty Reed and Nick Wright both taking 2nd spot with 4lb 2oz, also young Alex Dowe also claiming a section win in his first east coast match. Tomorrow sees the Superteam in action at the last NJAA match of the year at Worksop on the Chesterfield canal. IMPORTANT NOTICE. Ten Mile Bank will be closed to all public anglers from Friday midnight, this is closed for the eastern region shield, the venue will reopen to the public Saturday 6.00pm |
