Hard going on the Cut Off |
|
Anglers who braved the near flood conditions on the Cut Off weren't rewarded with any fish. With the river up over the banks some people decided at the start this was just to difficult and with the water dropping hearly 4 feet in 90 minutes they were't far wrong.
The good point however was the bright sunny conditions which gave some light relief from the winters weather of late, anyway it was a good crack all round for the guy's who attended. Even if some had some costly pole breakages, oops! The question remained unanswered in that where have all the fish gone, with people in the week also struggling to find a fish. |

Cut Off or Bust that's the message from new Match Sec Chud Harris, as he bids to re-establish the clubs waters on the open match scene.
A free-to-enter open on the Cut-Off means anglers can fish the once-prolific channel as guests of the club on Saturday - you don't even need to shell out for a day ticket. The committee wants to see if there are any fish and it's been ages since we had a proper match on the venue. So lets get a few people down there and see what they catch.
Saturday's open draw is at 8.30am in the Cut Off car park. Call Chud Harris on 07506 703161. |

12 People fished the first match of the 2008 river season.
Although people stuck out for the bream and tench as shown in this area from previous seasons, none showed on the day in the bright and clear water conditions. The old man of the river should have really won the day, but his reactions aren't what they use to be.
Results. 1st Joe Evans 2nd Mike Grief 3rd Mark Smith 9 didn't catch. |
