Challenge National, Grand Union Canal Milton Keynes.

A  venue which we were all waiting for as many of the squad had fished this venue before, Lynn fielding another newcomer to the side was young Toby Pepper, Lynn fielded another 2 intermediate teams  just to make sure everyone who wanted to fish actually  fished,  I  made the decision to fish the younger anglers in one team  and keep the more experienced team together rather than mixing it around,  As the draw approached  we had time for a quick team meeting were tactics were discussed and what lines to fish and after a bit of  good humoured banter off to the pegs we went, for our first sighting of the canal.

Both teams drew well and in the early stages of the match, the Lynn teams were finding the fish, Toby had drawn a tough section and either side of him were England intermediate anglers, he was not  dispondant to the challenge and eventually convincingly beating both anglers around him and actually taking a well earned section win. Harry Blackmur and Rocky Murley also fished very well and finished very high up in the section for some valuble team points, Brendan Strowlger was the other team angler for the youngsters but conditions and lack of fish in the swim despite trying every option available, points were hard to come by in the toughest area.

A fantastic team 4th position was picked by the youngsters and were only a mere couple of grammes from picking up 3rd spot. The elder statesman of the team found the going tough with  very few fish around and just picking up the odd fish, But Gary Harris, managed  to fish a tidy line  to finish well up in his section, this was supported by Tom Cockle , Reece Dillamore and Damien Evans for a 7th place position.
